Château Zaya : Excellence of Saint-Émilion

Castle Zaya

Château Zaya, renewal of a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

With significant investments in winemaking, this 8-hectares estate produces a wonderful Saint Emilion Grand Cru, marked by a dominant Merlot grape and nuances of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Covering an area of 7.89 hectares, Château Zaya is located in the highly acclaimed Saint-Émilion appellation, close to properties that have been producing Saint-Émilion's finest Grands Crus Classés for decades, including Château Pavie and Château Ausonne.

La Maison Younan acquired Château Zaya (formerly Château La Garelle) in 2018 with the aim of establishing an international reputation for exceptional Bordeaux wines, and has invested in implementing and perfecting the vineyard culture, production process and facilities. The winery, equipped with stainless steel tanks, and the ageing cellar were completely renovated in 2022.

It had always been a dream for Zaya S. Younan (creator of the luxury institution La Maison Younan) to own a vineyard in St Emilion Grand Cru. He renamed it after himself. The name change symbolizes the care and passion Zaya S. Younan puts into making exceptional wine, sacrificing quantity for the highest quality vinification.

Introduced for the 1st time at the DECANTER WORLD WIDE AWARDS, Château Zaya 2020 won an impressive gold medal with 95 points.
